Drinkwell 360: parts and shared drinking bowls
A circular fountain can offer several approaches without making every cat drink from a single front spout. It still needs a suitable location, a workable cleaning routine and the correct replacement parts. The two Drinkwell 360 designs are a useful example: similar names conceal differences that matter after the first filter change.
First identify the bowl and its locking system
The Stainless Multi-Pet PWW00-13705 has a steel bowl and cone, with three outside clips retaining the cone. The earlier Plastic 360 D360-RE has a plastic bowl and a cone that twists into its locks. Do not buy a plumbing or stream-ring kit merely because its listing says 360. Match the actual part number in the guide for your fountain.
The distinction continues inside. Both exact guides name PAC00-13712 carbon filters, but the steel fountain uses PAC00-13711 foam filters while the plastic version specifies RF360-PRE. A shared consumable does not prove the surrounding assemblies are interchangeable. Check a used unit for its intake tube, filter housing, cap and correct retaining parts before treating a low asking price as a complete setup.
Need one: a steel bowl, several approaches and a gallon rating
PWW00-13705 is the clearer choice among these two for that combination. Its current US page states 128 ounces and offers five interchangeable stream rings with a separate flow-strength adjustment. Leave space around the fountain so those approaches remain usable. Against a wall or deep inside a cabinet, the circular layout can lose much of its practical value.
Consider the 128 oz Outlast as a different mechanism and cleaning arrangement, rather than a replacement for every steel-bowl preference. Select material and cleaning access deliberately; equal nominal capacity does not make two fountains equivalent.
Need two: keep an existing plastic 360 working
D360-RE remains useful as an exact maintenance reference. Its original guide identifies the plastic fittings and the sequence for unlocking the cone and opening the pump. Its older catalogue capacity records conflict, so check the packaging supplied with a specific remaining-stock offer if you need a firm capacity guarantee. Its article does not certify the larger of the competing ratings.
For someone starting fresh who simply wants a gallon-sized plastic open bowl, the one-gallon Oasys is a relevant alternative. It has a different tower and flow adjustment. Compare the actual shape and cleaning components rather than expecting it to accept a box of leftover 360 parts.
Need three: less electrical handling when washing
Both 360 designs place an electrical pump in the wet bowl. Their top-rack dishwasher permission applies after separating that pump and adaptor. You still need to open and clean the pump, and a removable inline connector does not create an electrically empty reservoir.
If that separation is your main priority, examine the Catit Easy Clean 43621 and its actual motor arrangement. If the priority is placing the fountain away from an outlet instead, examine the cordless HydroSphere. Battery placement and easy reservoir removal are different requirements; a fountain can satisfy one without satisfying the other.
Stream choices do not replace observation
With a 360, choose the ring for stream count and adjust the installed cap for strength. Lift the cap to remove it; do not confuse removal with the turning action used to adjust flow. After cleaning, verify that the pump, tubing and retaining pieces are properly seated before restoring power.
Several streams do not establish individual intake records or guarantee that several cats will share peacefully. Watch whether each cat can approach and drink, inspect the real water level, and maintain the cleaning routine. Choose the fountain whose daily handling you can sustain, rather than relying on its nominal capacity or number of spouts to do that work for you.
