A useful fit for

Frequent sink trips when separating the water reservoir from the motor makes the routine easier.

The main tradeoff

It has less stated capacity than the original 3 L Flower. Refilling after a low-water stop requires lifting and replacing the reservoir, and dishwasher permission is unconfirmed.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I require an electronics-free lift-off reservoir, retained water and low-water shutdown?

Yes. The motor stays in the base, the shallow drinking area retains water and low-water stopping is documented. Wet mechanical parts still need care.

Does it meet a confirmed 3-liter minimum?

No. The exact 43621 reservoir is 2 liters, unlike the original 43742.

Can I require confirmed dishwasher permission for the drinking surface?

That permission is not established. A removable reservoir is not automatically dishwasher safe.

The Catit Easy to Clean Flower Fountain 43621 is the Flower model to examine when carrying a reservoir to the sink is the main ownership concern. Its motor stays in a separate base while a removable wet rotor circulates the water. That is a meaningful redesign from the original Flower's submerged electrical pump, even though both use a familiar flower-shaped outlet.

Check the number as well as the name

The current page identifies 43621 and a 2-liter reservoir. It is a different configuration from the original 43742 Flower, which has a 3-liter reservoir. A listing shortened to Flower Fountain can obscure that tradeoff. Choose the easier reservoir arrangement deliberately rather than assuming the newer design also has the larger capacity.

Catit calls this design pumpless because no electrical pump sits in the reservoir. There is still a motor in the base and an impeller that moves water. The useful benefit is separation for handling and cleaning, not the absence of a pumping mechanism. The base remains an electrical component that requires its own dry treatment.

The water tank lifts away from its base

The reservoir can be placed on the base in either orientation, and the pump stops when the tank is removed. That can simplify a regular refill compared with carrying a corded pump assembly to the sink. It does not eliminate the small wet parts: the connector tube, rotor and rotor opening still need inspection and cleaning.

The exact guide describes fitting the impeller and pressing the connector into position before assembly. Take care with those parts when lifting and washing the reservoir. A flow problem after cleaning can come from an incorrectly seated component; treating every interruption as an electronic failure can send you toward unnecessary replacement.

Refilling includes a restart step

The model has low-water detection and status lighting. After a low-water stop, Catit instructs the owner to lift the refilled reservoir off the base and replace it; the product FAQ specifies at least five seconds off the base. That is worth knowing before installation. Simply pouring in water may not complete the restart procedure.

The shallow drinking area retains water when pumping is off. This provides access to that pool, but it does not turn the fountain into a battery appliance. Continuous circulation requires the supplied power arrangement. For an unplugged location, compare a genuine battery model and its flow mode, such as the Dockstream PLWF115.

Three presentations use the flower parts

The flower accessory, its cap and the option to remove the accessory create different water presentations. These are physical stream choices rather than motion-sensor, timer or app-controlled modes. You can observe which one your cat uses without changing the appliance's power source or adding a connected account.

Make room for the fountain's approximately 8.5-inch maximum width and for lifting the reservoir. A narrow shelf can be awkward even if its depth just accommodates the smaller base diameter. Choose a stable, level surface and route the cord appropriately. We have not measured splash behavior or sound in a home, so neither is guaranteed by the design description.

Easy removal still needs frequent cleaning

The exact guide recommends cleaning the fountain and rinsing its filter every three days, with weekly cleaning of the impeller and opening. Replace a dirty or blocked filter sooner rather than waiting for a calendar interval. Use a soft sponge and the instructed brush approach, without forcing small components or leaving cleaning residue behind.

No affirmative dishwasher permission for this configuration's drinking surface is established in the exact sources used here. A removable tank is not automatically a dishwasher-safe tank. For a specifically documented dishwasher-safe steel drinking top, compare the PIXI 43720 or Steel Flower 43725.

This is an assessment of the official 43621 page and its exact guide, not a personal product trial or a health claim. Find a plastic-surface fountain with an electronics-free lift-off reservoir and retained water if convenient sink handling is the main goal.

Key details at a glance

Reservoir and capacity limitsThe exact 43621 reservoir is 2 L, smaller than the original 3 L Flower 43742.
Power arrangementThe supplied 5 V, 1 A adapter powers a motor in the dry base. A removable wet rotor still moves water; pumpless does not mean there is no motor.
Water flow and conditionsContinuous circulation with three physical flower and cap presentations. A shallow pool retains water when off. After a low-water refill, lift the tank off the base for at least five seconds and reseat it.
Drinking surface and wet partsPlastic drinking surface and lift-off reservoir. Electronics stay in the base; impeller, connector and filter still require cleaning.
Cleaning and source limitationsExact guide recommends fountain cleaning/filter rinsing every three days and weekly impeller/opening care. Unplug, use gentle tools and rinse thoroughly. No dishwasher permission is established.
App and observation limitsA local nightlight and water-level/status indicators accompany automatic shutdown. App intake records are not established.
Confirmed body height7.7 in

Use the exact model’s instructions for operating limits, supplied equipment and version differences.
