A useful fit for

A permanent drinking station where a steel bowl, several approaches and regular pump cleaning suit the household.

The main tradeoff

The submerged pump and plastic fittings still require disassembly, and the bowl does not provide battery-powered circulation.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I combine a steel drinking surface, at least 3.5 liters nominally, continuous outlet operation and retained accessible bowl water?

Yes. The current exact US model specifies 128 oz, a steel bowl and continuous outlet flow, with water still accessible if pumping stops.

Can this fountain circulate continuously from a rechargeable main-unit battery?

No documented operating plan meets that requirement. This configuration uses the wired pump and wall adaptor.

Can I remove a reservoir whose electrical motor stays behind in a dry base?

No. The electrical pump sits in the wet bowl and must be removed separately for cleaning.

The PetSafe Drinkwell Stainless Multi-Pet PWW00-13705 suits a household that wants a large, open drinking bowl with a choice of falling streams and is comfortable cleaning an ordinary submerged pump. Its circular layout is the main reason to choose it: you can leave several approaches open rather than direct every cat toward one front-facing spout. The steel bowl and cone are useful material choices, but they do not make the filter assembly, tubing, clips or pump disappear.

A gallon bowl needs room around it

The current US product page specifies 128 US fluid ounces, or one gallon, approximately 3.79 liters. That puts this model above the 64 oz Oasys for someone whose minimum is two liters. It does not establish how long a particular household can leave it between refills. Drinking, evaporation and debris still call for regular inspection.

The center cone occupies part of the bowl, leaving a circular drinking area around it. This arrangement makes most sense where cats can approach from different directions. Pushing it into a narrow gap defeats much of that advantage, and a decorative cabinet can make the central assembly awkward to remove. PetSafe publishes a 14.3 × 14.3 × 9.3 inch dimension string without assigning the axes in the current table. Confirm the installed height and opening space with the seller if you have a strict shelf limit.

Stream count and stream strength are separate choices

Five interchangeable spout rings let you select between one and five falling streams. A separate cap changes their strength. More streams are a way to distribute access, rather than five independently powered outlets or five automatically scheduled drinks. Begin with the arrangement your cats are willing to approach, then adjust it while watching their actual use.

There is an important difference between adjusting and dismantling the cap. Turning it changes flow while installed; lifting it straight up removes it. PetSafe specifically warns against twisting it off. A person expecting one large dial that unscrews from the tower could damage the fitting by treating those actions as interchangeable. The ring system is flexible, although keeping several small pieces organized adds to the ownership routine.

Outlet operation with accessible stored water

This is a wired, continuously operating fountain. Its electrical pump sits inside the wet bowl, and its cable runs out to an adaptor. It therefore does not meet a requirement for an electrically empty lift-off reservoir. Nor does the detachable inline connector establish battery operation.

PetSafe explicitly says pets can still reach bowl water during a power interruption. That is a useful distinction for someone comparing an open bowl with a design that relies on pumping water into its drinking area. It means accessible stored water remains; it does not promise continued circulation. If placing the main fountain away from an outlet is essential, examine the cordless HydroSphere and its actual battery-flow conditions instead. Its smaller capacity may matter more than its freedom of placement.

Steel surfaces still come with a full cleaning job

The stainless bowl and cone can be separated from the pump, intake tube, filter housing and three retaining cord clips. The clips also secure the cone; they are functional assembly parts, not optional cable tidiers. Lift the fountain by its bowl, with support underneath, rather than by the cone when moving it.

The exact PWW00-13705 quick guide allows the non-electrical fountain parts on the dishwasher's top rack. Pump and adaptor remain outside the dishwasher. A dishwasher cycle also does not open the pump for you: the faceplate, stator and magnetic impeller need attention separately. Choose this fountain only if that small-component work fits your routine. For a different cleaning arrangement, compare the 128 oz Outlast, whose water movement and reservoir design differ substantially.

Consumables are also model-specific. The exact guide identifies PAC00-13712 carbon filters and PAC00-13711 foam filters, with replacement intervals of two to four weeks and one to two months respectively. Inspect earlier when condition requires it. Keep soap out of filters. The plastic D360-RE uses a different foam-filter reference, despite sharing the 360 name and carbon-filter family.

Who should choose this configuration?

Choose PWW00-13705 when your priorities are a steel drinking bowl, roughly one-gallon nominal capacity, adjustable falling streams and open access from several sides. It is especially practical when you have a permanent outlet location and can move the disassembled parts to a sink without struggling for clearance.

Look elsewhere when battery operation, an electronics-free reservoir, verified automatic low-water shutdown or individual app drinking records are essential. The physical flow cap does not establish those capabilities. The one-gallon Oasys offers a different plastic bowl and single-tower arrangement; the Outlast offers a different water-moving mechanism. The reason to select this stainless 360 is its combination of bowl material and configurable multi-directional streams, provided you accept the submerged pump and its cleaning requirements.

Key details at a glance

Reservoir and capacity limits128 US fluid oz nominally, approximately 3.79 liters. Inspect the actual level regularly; the rating does not promise days between checks.
Power arrangementA wired submersible pump and wall adaptor provide continuous outlet-powered operation. Stored bowl water remains accessible during an outage; circulation does not continue on a documented battery.
Water flow and conditionsChoose one of five supplied spout rings for one to five falling streams, then adjust their strength with the installed cap. Lift the cap straight up to remove it.
Drinking surface and wet partsStainless steel drinking bowl and cone, with separate plastic clips, tubing, filter housing and an electrical pump in the wet bowl.
Cleaning and source limitationsNon-electrical fountain parts have top-rack dishwasher permission. Open and hand-clean the pump separately; keep pump and adaptor out of the dishwasher and soap out of filters. The exact guide gives carbon replacement every two to four weeks and foam every one to two months.
App and observation limitsAdjustable streams and an accessible open bowl do not establish app drinking records, individual identification or automatic water-level safeguards.
