Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I require rechargeable operation, single-pet records and a supplied compatible splash shield?
Yes. This Starter Pack includes the cordless PLWF116 and its PLSS106 shield. It is not a different identification or pump system.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I require intake records attributed to different cats?
That capability is not established. The shield does not add RFID hardware; this remains a one-pet-at-a-time tracking fountain.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I require confirmed dishwasher permission for the drinking tray?
Not while the exact US guide and product claims conflict. The additional supplies do not change the underlying care instructions.
Explore this need in the finder →The PETLIBRO Dockstream 2 Starter Pack is worth examining when you already want the cordless PLWF116 and would also buy its splash shield. The current official bundle adds a PLSS106 shield and two eight-packs of filter refills. Those supplied accessories change the complete purchase, while the fountain's power, tracking limits and cleaning instructions remain those of the PLWF116.
The shield is the functional bundle difference
The current Starter Pack page identifies the Dockstream 2 Smart Cordless Fountain, the Dockstream 2 Splash Shield and sixteen additional filters. We assess the package separately because an included guard can be an essential requirement for the intended setup. It is not a more powerful pump, larger reservoir or different intake-identification system.
The base PLWF116 package can be the more relevant purchase when you do not want the shield or the extra supplies. Compare current package contents and compatible parts rather than assuming a bundle is always better value. This review does not supply a current price comparison or promise a saving.
Use the shield without treating it as a spill guarantee
PETLIBRO describes the accessory as catching stray drips and playful splashes. It changes the drinking area's physical surround, so check that the animal can approach the opening comfortably and actually uses it. We have not measured how much water it retains or tested a particular cat's behavior.
A shield does not remove the need for a stable, level placement and regular inspection around the fountain. It also adds a part to clean. The PLSS106 accessory is tied to the Dockstream 2 system; do not substitute it for the differently documented shield required by the RFID PLWF305.
The battery claim keeps its original conditions
The included PLWF116 has a 5200 mAh rechargeable battery and a 3-liter tank. Its main pump can operate without an outlet. The maker's up-to-thirty-day figure assumes a full charge, one pet and sensor-activated flow. Adding a shield and filters does not extend that claim to continuous pumping or a busier household.
The cordless model offers continuous or sensor flow, with wired use also documented. Plan charging and checks around actual use. For the older PLWF115, battery operation is sensor-only; that restriction belongs to a different model and should not be transferred in either direction.
Extra filters do not extend each filter's service life
Sixteen refills provide a supply of consumables, not permission to use one filter longer. The current page's two-week filter advice and the exact guide's weekly instruction differ, and dirt or restricted flow can require earlier attention. Follow the applicable supplied guide and actual condition rather than multiplying a package count into a guaranteed maintenance-free period.
The motor remains in the dry base, with a rotor and pipe in the lift-off wet assembly. The tank is ABS and the drinking tray steel. Clean the small water passages and keep the electrical base dry. The shield does not make the tank or base dishwasher safe.
Tracking remains a one-pet process
The fountain supports 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi and app records for one pet at a time. It does not identify several cats through the included shield. A subscription can add software services, but it does not turn this into RFID hardware or establish a medical diagnosis from drinking data.
The current page describes a dishwasher-safe tray, while the exact linked US guide says not to machine-wash any parts and identifies the steel tray as integrated with plastic. We leave that permission unconfirmed and advise exact-version clarification before relying on a dishwasher routine. The additional accessory package does not resolve the underlying instruction conflict.
This is a document-based assessment without hands-on testing. Find a rechargeable single-pet tracking setup with a supplied splash shield if all three conditions are essential. Otherwise compare the base fountain and only the accessories you will actually use.
Key details at a glance
| Reservoir and capacity limits | The bundle's PLWF116 fountain has a 3 L reservoir. Extra supplies do not increase water capacity. |
|---|---|
| Power arrangement | PLWF116 main rechargeable battery 5200 mAh, with supplied 5 V, 1 A adapter and documented wired use. |
| Water flow and conditions | Cordless continuous or sensor flow. Up to thirty days is a maker claim only for full charge, one pet and sensor mode; the shield does not change those conditions. |
| Drinking surface and wet parts | Steel drinking tray over an ABS tank, plus supplied PLSS106 shield. The steel tray and plastic filter tray remain integrated. |
| Cleaning and source limitations | Exact US guide prohibits dishwasher cleaning of parts while current product descriptions permit the tray; permission stays unresolved. Additional filters do not extend each filter's usable life. Keep the base dry and inspect all wet parts. |
| App and observation limits | App intake/session records for one pet at a time, with dual-band Wi-Fi. The included shield does not identify cats or create RFID hardware. |
Use the exact model’s instructions for operating limits, supplied equipment and version differences.
