A useful fit for

Remote pump control and maintenance prompts when a suitable 2.4 GHz network and regular physical care are available.

The main tradeoff

App status is not individually attributed intake measurement. No rechargeable pump or 5 GHz support is established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I require app controls, a dishwasher-safe steel surface and interval flow?

Yes. The exact Smart supports those features on its outlet-powered setup. Its Geyser pattern is five minutes on and fifteen minutes paused.

Can I require both 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

No. The exact product supports only 2.4 GHz.

Can I require drinking records attributed to different cats?

That capability is not established. Its documented app features are controls and status notifications rather than paired-tag intake attribution.

The Catit PIXI Smart 43751 is useful when remote pump control, scheduling and refill notifications matter more than keeping the fountain entirely offline. It includes a stainless steel drinking top and a shallow pool that retains water when pumping stops. Its app features concern controls and maintenance status; they should not be mistaken for individually identified drinking-volume records.

Choose the connected functions deliberately

The exact product supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. A home network that only provides a usable 5 GHz connection at the intended location will need attention before this is a suitable purchase. Check the signal where the fountain will stand, rather than assuming that an app working beside the router proves the final position will work equally well.

The app can switch the pump, set an operating period and offer a Geyser pattern of five minutes running followed by fifteen minutes paused. Those are modes of an outlet-powered appliance. They do not establish cordless use or a pet-approach sensor. If an unplugged placement is essential, the Dockstream 2 Cordless solves a different power problem.

Notifications do not measure an individual cat

Catit documents water-level, filter and pump-maintenance notifications, plus app sharing for another household member or sitter. These can help divide responsibility for routine checks. A notification can still require someone to be physically present to refill or clean the fountain. It is not an automatic service that replaces that visit.

The documentation used here does not establish consumption attribution to different cats or a measured intake history for one identified pet. For that requirement, compare the Dockstream RFID PLWF305 and its collar-tag conditions. Even a drinking-history product is an observation tool, rather than a diagnosis or a guarantee of health.

The water presentation remains adjustable

The included spout creates an arching stream; removing it offers a bubbling presentation into the shallow front bowl. Water retained in the bowl remains accessible during a pause in pumping. That is useful when a timer is active, but it does not mean the entire reservoir remains accessible without electricity.

The exact model page specifies a 2-liter reservoir. Treat the amount as storage capacity, not a promised unattended interval. Check actual water level and operation regularly. A larger tank or remote alert does not establish how long a particular household can go without checking the appliance.

UV-C adds a component, not a medical promise

The fountain includes a UV-C clarification function with scheduled operation and manual initiation through the app. We do not turn the manufacturer's clarification description into a disease-prevention or sterile-water guarantee. Filtering, refilling and cleaning remain part of ownership, and the intended use remains an indoor pet drinking fountain.

Low-water detection and automatic shutdown are also documented. These help protect operation when the reservoir gets too low, but a shut-down pump still needs a person to refill it. Consider whether you want extra connected functions and indicators to maintain, rather than treating every added feature as an automatic improvement for a simple drinking station.

Separate washable tops from the electrical body

The North American guide specifically permits the separable fountain top and steel cover in the dishwasher, while excluding the body. It also gives instructions for detaching and cleaning the pump; do not disconnect its internal plug while water remains in the reservoir. A steel surface does not make the whole appliance suitable for immersion or machine washing.

The guide's maintenance advice and the app's reminder intervals serve different purposes. Inspect and clean as needed rather than waiting for a pump reminder to prove that nothing needs attention. If steel-top cleaning is your only reason to consider the Smart, the non-connected 43720 may already cover that need.

This assessment is based on the exact official product and North American guide, without hands-on testing. Find app-controlled steel-surface fountains with a documented interval mode and compare the actual operating conditions.

Key details at a glance

Reservoir and capacity limitsExact 43751 specifications: 2 L. A reservoir size does not establish days without refilling or inspection.
Power arrangementMain pump uses the supplied outlet adapter. Geyser timing is an operating pattern, not battery power.
Water flow and conditionsNormal continuous flow or Geyser: five minutes on, fifteen minutes paused. App timer and optional arching spout are separate controls; shallow pool retains water when off.
Drinking surface and wet partsSupplied stainless steel cover over a plastic top/body. The North American guide allows the separable top and steel cover in the dishwasher, while excluding the body.
Cleaning and source limitationsUnplug before care. Never disconnect the pump's internal plug while water remains in the reservoir. Clean the pump and filter as instructed; app reminders do not replace inspection.
App and observation limitsApp pump controls, schedule, UV-C clarification control and refill/filter/pump reminders. Individually measured drinking attribution is not established; no medical outcome is promised.

Use the exact model’s instructions for operating limits, supplied equipment and version differences.
