PetSafe Pagoda vs Seascape vs Outlast: compare the routine
PetSafe’s Pagoda, Seascape and Outlast fountains can look like close substitutes in a product grid, but they solve different placement and care problems. Compare the exact mechanism and what you must clean, not just the capacity printed in ounces.
Pagoda: two falling streams and a raised dish
The current white PWW00-13907 and Himalayan Blue PWW00-14898 Pagoda share a 70-ounce ceramic arrangement: a submerged outlet-powered pump feeds a tower with two free-falling streams above an open lower bowl. A raised upper dish and lower pool give two drinking levels. The bowl remains available if the pump stops, but PetSafe’s manual warns against running the pump below one inch of water and does not establish automatic low-water shutdown. The flow is listed as non-adjustable.
Seascape: a softer bubbling presentation
The Drinkwell Seascape PWW00-16021 is also named at 70 ounces and uses ceramic, a submerged pump and continuous outlet power. Its product and support materials describe a softer bubbling stream over the tower, rather than the Pagoda’s two falling streams and raised upper dish. If your household prefers a simpler drinking presentation or the gray ceramic design, compare it directly; do not assume that shared capacity means shared bowl layout. Both require pump cleaning apart from the bowl and filter schedule.
Outlast: separate dry base, smaller named capacity
PetSafe’s Outlast 60 PWW00-17957 changes the architecture. Its bowl lifts away from a separate dry electrical base, and a rotating cone circulates water when plugged in. The 60-ounce size is smaller than either ceramic 70-ounce fountain, but the separate base may suit someone who wants to carry the wet bowl to a sink without moving the electrical base. It does not make the model cordless, and its plastic drinking tray and pump-care routine differ from the ceramic fountains.
Choose by the routine you can maintain
For a senior cat that can comfortably reach it, the Pagoda’s elevated upper dish is a useful extra position, but the product’s marketing is not a clinical claim and the manufacturer does not give a confirmed body height in the materials used here. If dishwasher permission matters, read the Pagoda’s qualification: the current store page says top-rack safe while the older model guide recommends hand-washing ceramic and excludes the pump. Seascape support likewise gives top-rack guidance with pump-care limits. Outlast’s dry base must be wiped rather than immersed. In every case, plan to refresh water, check flow and clean the pump; no fountain removes those duties.
Use the Pagoda review, Seascape review and Outlast review for configuration-specific details. If battery operation, app tracking, sensor-triggered flow or exact dimensions are essential, verify those requirements against another model’s exact sources rather than inferring them from a shared brand or name.
